How it worksThe problem
A 34 euro bill becomes 129 euro once a collection agency is involved, through costs the law often does not allow. Most people pay without reading, because the letter is built to be paid that way.
CBS counted 8.6 percent of Dutch households with registered problem debts on 1 January 2025. The extras on a small bill are often where it starts.
Why it matters
Since 1 October 2026 a collection agency that is not in the Justis register cannot charge collection costs or further interest. Almost nobody checks.
The legal maximum for collection costs, the 14-day letter rule and the statutory interest rate are public. Applying them takes a minute for a machine and an evening for a stressed person.
The alternative
Take a photo of the letter. FeeFix reads the amounts and dates, you confirm them, and plain rules from Dutch law decide. Not AI. Every finding links to its source.
The result splits what you owe, what you do not owe and what they must prove first. The reply letter accepts the original bill, refuses the extras and asks for proof where it is unclear.
It never helps anyone dodge a real debt, and it points to free debt help from the gemeente and Juridisch Loket before anyone charges for advice.
How it works
- 01
The letter
A photo or PDF, or type the amounts in yourself. Nothing is stored on a server.
- 02
The check
Eleven rules: the register, the 14-day letter, the cost cap, extra fees, VAT, interest, totals, old debts and empty threats.
- 03
The number
What you owe, what you do not, and what they must prove first, line by line.
- 04
The reply
A Dutch letter ready to send, as PDF or email, with a reminder in your calendar.
